Replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant is a long‑term solution, but cost is an important part of the decision. In Ontario, the price of a single implant can vary depending on the surgical procedure, imaging, and whether the jawbone requires additional preparation.

How Much Does a Single Tooth Implant Cost in Canada?
The cost of a single dental implant in Canada typically ranges between $3,000 and $5,000 depending on whether additional procedures are required.
At Concord Oral Surgery, the surgical fee for a single dental implant is $3,300. This includes:
- CBCT scan
- Treatment planning completed in our office
- The implant fixture
- The abutment
This fee covers the surgical portion of implant placement. The final crown and sedation are not included.
Important note: If additional procedures are necessary, the overall cost may increase. Each patient’s treatment plan is different and the final price depends on the condition of the jawbone and surrounding structures.
Additional Procedures That May Affect Implant Cost
Not every patient can receive a dental implant immediately. If the bone volume or anatomy requires preparation, additional procedures may be recommended before or during implant placement.
These procedures can increase the total treatment cost.
Direct and Indirect Sinus Elevation
In the upper jaw, the sinus cavity may sit too close to the implant site. A sinus lift or sinus elevation creates space for bone graft material so the implant can be placed safely.
Depending on the materials required, sinus elevation and grafting may range from $2,000 to $2,500.
Bone Grafting
When bone loss has occurred after tooth loss, bone grafting may be necessary to rebuild the area. This procedure strengthens the jaw and provides adequate support for the implant.
The need for grafting depends on how long the tooth has been missing and the amount of existing bone.
Cost of Full Mouth Dental Implants
Some patients require implants to replace all teeth in one or both arches. In these cases, a full-arch implant system may be recommended.
For example, All-on-4 treatment for both the upper and lower jaws can cost up to $45,000 for the surgical portion. This fee includes the surgical portion only, it does not include the final prosthetic teeth.

FAQs
Are dental implants covered by insurance in Canada?
Some dental insurance plans provide partial coverage for implant procedures, while others cover only the crown portion. Coverage varies by provider and policy.
How long do dental implants last?
Dental implants are designed to be long-term replacements. With good oral hygiene and regular dental care, implants can last many years and often decades.
Why is the crown not included in the implant price?
The implant surgery is completed by the oral surgeon, while the crown is typically fabricated and placed by the restoring dentist. Because these are separate stages of treatment, the costs are billed separately.
Are dental implants worth the cost?
Dental implants replace both the root and the visible portion of the tooth. This helps maintain jawbone support, restores chewing function, and provides a stable long-term solution for missing teeth.
